Woman attempts suicide

Sick and tired of daily botheration of drunk husband, a woman married 12 years ago attempted suicide by consuming pesticide in colony close to Vyaas Mohalla in Panagar on Sunday night. In a highly critical condition, she was first admitted to Panagar hospital and later, was referred to District Hospital for intensive treatment.

According to information, the victim named as Nisha resident from Panagar was rushed to District Hospital after she consumed pesticide being sick and tired of her drunk husband. The husband, under strong influence of liquor, used to intimidate her at the mental and physical level. The victim was married to Vijay Kushwaha 12 years ago in accordance with Hindu marriage rites.

About the incident occurred, it is informed, the victim Nisha was bitterly rebuked by her drunk husband on Sunday night. The drunk husband who stepped in the home indulged in foul language and later indulged in physical abuse. Deeply offended with the daily botheration she consumed pesticide being kept in the house to stock wheat.

The incident came to fore when the victim cried of pain made the members of in-laws to take note of the cry made who stepped in the room and found her lying desolate on the bed by the side, the empty ampoule of pesticide was detected made the family members suspect foul. Sensing gravity of her desolate condition, she was rushed to Panagar Government Hospital.

At the Government hospital, doctor who initiated preliminary treatment found her less responding. Accordingly, she was referred to District Hospital in Ambulance 108. Undergoing treatment, she has regained her lost sense and is reported to be stable. Cops who reached at the hospital having recorded the statement of the victim have registered case under relevant sections of IPC against the errant husband.
