1 held, English liquor stock seized

Continuing a rigorous campaign against illegal trade and transportation of liquor, a combined team of Crime Branch and Gorakhpur police have succeeded in apprehending an accused and seized 74 bottles of English liquor from his house, on Wednesday. The accused has been identified as Aman Arora (29), a resident of near Depot Number-2 in Gorakhpur.


Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime), Sandeep Mishra informed that under the direction of Superintendent of Police, Shashikant Shukla, police have started a special campaign against persons involved in illegal trade and transportation of liquor and other narcotic substances.


During the campaign, police received information about a man involved in illegal stocking of liquor at his house. Acting on the tip-off, a combined team of Crime Branch and Gorakhpur police conducted raid at the identified house of Aman Arora. In the raid, police have seized 74 bottles illegal stock of English liquor. Gorakhpur police have registered a case against the accused under Section 34(2) of the Excise Act while further investigations are underway.
