‘MSME-DI must create awareness about entrepreneurship in remote areas’

MSME-Development Institute (MSME-DI), Nagpur organised a two-day national-level Vendor Development Programme–cum-Industrial Exhibition MSME Expo, 2017 from November 23, 2017 at MIDC Industries Association (MIA) House, Hingna.


The Expo was inaugurated by chief guest Nanda Jichkar, City Mayor and MP Krupal Tumane who was special invitee of the programme. Ashutosh Tripathi, Vice-President of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, B. Vijay Kumar, Deputy Director Incharge, MSME-DI, Nagpur, Capt. C M Randhir, President of MIA and P K Nath, DGM, SIDBI were the other dignitaries present on dais.
More than 12 CPSUs and govt. Agencies and around 75 MSMEs participated and exhibited their products in the Expo.


In his welcome address, B.Vijay Kumar welcomed all the dignitaries on the dais and all the participants for their overwhelming response. He said, the main objective of the MSME Expo is to provide a common platform to the various CPSUs and MSMEs to interact with each other and to know about the requirements of CPSUs and exhibit their products/items so that CPSUs know about their capabilities.
He said, MSME-DIs are organising various NVDPs with the objective of development and promotion of MSMEs. The basic object is to bring the buyers-sellers on a common platform to showcase the capabilities of the MSMEs so that they can identify potential suppliers. “The main objective of Public Procurement Policy, 2012 is to support MSMEs to get business,” he added. He also briefed about the various schemes of Government of India for MSME sector. He appealed to all the participating entrepreneurs to get benefitted from the programme.


During his address, MP Krupal Tumane, said, “This is a very good programme of MSME.” He appreciated the efforts taken by MSME-DI, Nagpur for organising such type of a big event which will be beneficial to existing and new entrepreneurs.


He said, such type of industrial exhibition will help the people by creating awareness on how to set up a business. He said, there should be industrial growth in rural areas to generate employment. He appealed B.Vijay Kumar, to create awareness in remote areas about entrepreneurship. Self-employment formula must be implemented in rural areas by providing proper guidance. He also appealed to SIDBI to provide finance at low rate of interest to MSMEs in the region.


Nanda Jichkar welcomed all the dignitaries and the participants. She appreciated MSME-DI Nagpur for promoting skill development. She also said that participation of women in the exhibition is very encouraging.


“Women are good managers so they can be successful entrepreneurs,” she noted. She said, it is really appreciable that women are coming forward in entrepreneurship. She appealed to all the participating entrepreneurs to take maximum benefit from the support system provided by Government schemes and guide other educated unemployed youths of the region for starting their own ventures. She also spoke on the various activities of NMC and welcomed suggestions from participants.


Capt. C M Randhir briefed about the work of MIDC. He thanked all the CPSUs, MSMEs and MSME-DI, Nagpur for organising such event. He said, “About 95 per cent of units in MIDC are small scale industries and for them such events are necessary.” Ashutosh Tripathi said, “Such type of expo is very important for development of industries in the region.” He appealed the participants to encash the opportunity provided to them and also extended all support from Mahindra and Mahindra.


P K Nath explained in brief about the schemes of SIDBI. He said, such type of programmes give boost to marketing. He said SIDBI is giving loans at low rate of interest to MSMEs to promote growth of industries in the country.


Sunil Khujnare, Assistant Director(Met), MSME-DI, Nagpur proposed vote of thanks. There were sessions from representative of WCL, MOIL, MECL, FSNL, MOIL, BHEL, FSNL, BPCL, SIDBI, Ordnance factories, Mazgaon Dock Limited, NTPC etc.
