Durg Collector exchanges details of drought, scanty rains with team

Central Drought Study Team took meeting of officials in Collectorate Auditorium and took information of the situation arising due to drought and scanty rains and the efforts being taken to combat the situation. Outline of fixed action plan.
District Collector Umesh Kumar Agrawal apprised the team about the situation arising due to drought and scanty rains. He gave detail information about crop situation, area affected decrease in crop production, crop cutting experiment, affected crop production, Anavari report and Panchyat wise crop situation.

It was told in the meeting out of 429 villages, number villages 0 to 25 paise. Similarly, number of villages having 26 to 37 paise anavari is to 250 and number of villages having 38 to 50 paise anavari is 81. More than 50 paise anavari number of villages is 18. Transplantation work was badly affected. Total 75639 hactares is area has been affected by drought. Water are not available for irrigation. In kharif 2017 crop insurance scheme was availed by 2021 non-loanee farmers and 66 thousand 7 hundred 3 loanee farmers. CSPDCL arranged 44 new transfers, 281 permanent and 315. Tubewell drilling is proposed for filling ponds. Private tubewells will be taken over in public interest.
