Speeding car rams into tree; one killed, 3 seriously hurt

One died on the spot and three others were seriously injured, after the car in which they were traveling rammed into a roadside tree near Sector-6 Petrol Pump on Wednesday night. The incident took place around 200 meters away from Police Control Room at around 11 pm, where a speeding Indica Vista car bearing registration No CG-04, HC 0431, rammed the tree after losing control.


The deceased has been identified as Rajveer Singh, the resident of Sector-2 Bhilai, while the three injured have been identified as Sunil Kumar, resident of Sector-5, Lalla Tiwari and Saddam of Camp area, who were in the ill-fated car and are fighting for life at JLN Hospital, Sector-9.


As per police, the car was heading towards Sector-9 when the incident took place. The victims were rescued from the mangled car after much toil and then were sent to JLN Hospital through ambulance. The car was heading at a top speed.


The intensity of collision was so high that the tree that the car hit, fell broken on the road. After being informed, police personnel ran towards the spot for undertaking the rescue operation. Some eye witnesses said the car was speeding over 100 kms per hour.


The four were rushed to JLN Hospital where Rajveer were declared as brought dead. The offence for rash and negligent driving was registered, and further investigation are on.
It was also informed that three mobiles were found but as they had passwords, they could not be utilised.
