Staff Reporter,

To protest against the alleged deteriorating law and order situation of State, Congress workers led by state Congress incharge Deepak Babaria and State Congress President Arun Yadav tried to gherao the residence of Home Minister Bhupendra Singh on Wednesday. However, cops stonewalled their march by using water cannons and using the force.
It was around 10.30 am that Congress workers gathered at Congress headquarters and started to march towards the house of Home Minister Bhupendra Singh.

However, police have made elaborate arrangements to stop the Congress workers towards the house of Home Minister. Barricades were erected at selected spots to stop the march of Congress workers. Near Red Cross hospital, police stopped the Congress workers. When Congress workers tried to push the barricades and scale them, police used water cannons and also used force to disperse the agitating Congress workers. The scene was like a battlefield as several Congress workers tried to ignore the water cannons and move ahead but to no avail. Later, Arun Yadav censured the use of force against the demonstrating Congress workers and accused government of trying to suppress the voices being raised against poor law and order situation of State.
