Staff Reporter,

City police have sent special teams in Madhya Pradesh to track down the accused involved in the murder case of lottery trader’s son Rahul Agrekar (31). The cops are still groping in dark about motive behind murder. “Motive will be established only after interrogation of the accused,” said a senior police officer. According to information, police have questioned family members of prime suspects -- Durgesh Bokde (32), a resident of Durgawati Square; and Pankaj Harode (36), a resident of Itwari -- to get a clue about possible whereabouts of the accused in Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.

Last location of the accused accessed by the police was Narsinghpur in Madhya Pradesh. Police teams have visited the town but further movement of Bokde and Harode is still out of reach. They are not using mobile phones. Police feel that the suspects might be hiding somewhere in Madhya Pradesh or northern parts of country. Six teams of Crime Branch and five teams of Zone III are searching for the accused.

Rahul was abducted from Lakadganj area for ransom and later found murdered in Butibori on Tuesday. The accused have switched off their mobile phone since Tuesday. After committing the heinous crime at Petichuha jungle, village Bothli, about 10 kilometre from Butibori, the killers left towards Chhindwara in Harode’s Mahindra Bolero car (MH-49/B-7744) on the same night. They went to the house of Harode’s relative in village Pohama in Chhindwara district (MP) and stayed there till 5 am on Wednesday.

Besides Bokde and Harode, the cops are not ruling out involvement of some more persons in the crime. Prime suspect Bokde used to work at Agrekar’s shop earlier. He later started his own business. Bokde had borrowed Rs one lakh from Rahul but was refusing to return the amount, it was learnt. A police officer said that Bokde had contacted Jayesh and called him at Shahid Chowk a fortnight ago.
