DHE to hold virtual class for UG/PG students from Nov 27

State Department of Higher Education (DHE) released schedule for five days online virtual class for undergraduate first, third, five and postgraduate first, third and fifth semester students beginning from November 27. College principals have been directed to ensure attendance of students in classroom and subject expert. Classes under the scheme will be continued by December 1.

Classes are being organised for students from Arts, commerce and Science stream. All these classes are being telecasted for arts, commerce and science faculty students. The classes are organising from 12 noon to 1 pm. College are suggested to login the central studio from 10:45 to 11 am. Higher Education department was launched at 40 colleges across state following footsteps of private schools and colleges. Detail schedule of classes has been uploaded on DHE portal.

The department has planned to extend the virtual class in maximum no of colleges. Recently proposal was also asked from colleges to make expansion of smart class. Department has also released list of colleges where attendance of students are quite low. There are also few institutions where classes are not being run. The department has written letter to these institutes. There is also proposal to form panel of 20 subject wise expert for running the classes properly. These classes are helpful for students in learning process. These include space availability for accommodating at least 40 students in a class, concrete infrastructure for supporting network connection and wiring work and others. Scholars, who will be using smart classrooms for teaching, have given training for the techniques. 

Subject wise schedule and name of the expert to deliver lecture has been uploaded on DHE website. Students and teachers are suggested to check the detail from portal and be prepared for the class. Notably, virtual class is an online classroom that allows participants to communicate with one another view presentations or videos, interact with other participants and engage with resources in work groups. Virtual classroom facility has been introduced by state higher education department to raise the standard of education.
