Demolition team removes massive encroachments from railway land

With the help of local administration railway demolition team remove massive encroachment from the railway land at Dhamtari in a peaceful manner recently. The land of railway was being misused for commercial purpose by the encroachers. As per information received from railway officials, a joint team of State Government officials and railway officials took action with proper coordination. The encroachment was on railway land was done few years back by the local people. There were about 349 encroachments out of which 90 shop and 10 un-authorised residents were removed by the joint team. A notice in this regard was served to the encroachers on January 4, 2016.

Railway officials informed that as per order of High Court, a joint survey of the encroached railway land was conducted by state government’s revenue inspector, Patwari and junior Engineer of Railway. In presence of Railway officials of engineering department from Raipur Division, Railway Protection Force, Local police force the demolition work was carried out peacefully. About one acre of land was made encroachment free during the drive.

Railway administration aims to remove maximum encroachments from railway land with the help of local administration. At present about 5725 encroachments from Dhamtari, Raipur WRS colony, RVH and Khamtarai, Kumhari Durg Bhilai Marshalling Yard in Raipur Division are going to be removed. Railway administration has appealed the encroachers to vacate the land at the earliest as the drive will continue in the division.
