400 nikah ceremonies held on first day of Tablighi Ijtema

Approximately 300-400 nikah ceremonies were held on the first day of Bhopal Tablighi Ijtema which witnessed huge response on Saturday. Three-day congregation includes discussions about faith and peace and other socio-cultural events which would conclude on Monday at around noon.


Altamash, while talking to ‘The Hitavada’ about Ijtema, said that the event is held on Saturday, Sunday and Monday and Jamaats gather from around the world. This year has witnessed huge crowd and hundreds of Jamaats have gathered in the event. The congregation starts with Fajr Salah on Saturday morning followed by a series of lectures from different Muslim scholars and clerics. The programme continues all weekend and concludes with final prayers on Monday afternoon. Mass marriages will also take place on Saturday and Sunday. Scholars speak on a variety of subjects, including the Islamic way of life and the six Principles. To facilitate the public, various facilities have also been arranged. The State Government provides electricity, water and security along with parking places for the convenience of Jamaats.


Three-day Aalmi Tablighi Ijtema (World Islamic Congregation) is being organised at Ghasipura in Entkheri on the outskirts of Bhopal. This would be the 70th year of the religious meet considered as the third biggest gathering of Muslims in the world. Ijtema started on Saturday and would be concluded on Monday, November 27 after a grand dua.


Millions of people are expected to attend the three-day congregation and the first day event itself witnessed 3-4 lakh people . The event is one of the largest religious congregations in the world that does not have any political affiliation. It carries some of the greatest spiritual messages for the Muslims.
