ABU DHABI,

VALTTERI Bottas survived several laps of high-speed pressure from his Mercedes team-mate and world champion Lewis Hamilton to claim a memorable victory in Sunday’s season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The 28-year-old Finn, who started from pole position, led from the lights to the flag apart from a spell following his first pit stop when the four-time champion Briton was in control.
It was his third career victory, all of them recorded since he joined Mercedes to partner the 32-year-old Briton in January following the unexpected exit of 2016 champion German Nico Rosberg.

Force India finish 4th in F1 Championships SAHARA Force India drivers Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon grabbed seventh and eighth positions respectively in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as the team finished fourth in the constructors standings.

With 10 points from Sunday’s race—six for Perez and four for Ocon—Force India collected 187 points from the 20 races this Formula One Championships season, behind Mercedes (668), Ferrari (522) and Red Bull Racing (368).

Among the drivers, Perez finished seventh overall with 100 points while Ocon was eighth with 87 points. Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes, who has already won the championships, secured 363 points.  “187 points in 20 races to crown our most successful season ever,” Force India said on its official Twitter handle.
