A team of Lokayukta police special establishment, Jabalpur caught an Assistant Engineer of Madhya Pradesh Poorva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company Limited (MPPKVVCL) while taking bribe of Rs 5,000 for providing permanent electricity connection for irrigation at farm under government scheme.
The accused has been identified as Anoop Bose, posted as Assistant Engineer, Nainpur office of Lokayukta police personnel seen registering a case at office of Assistant Engineer of MPPKVVCL. Officers of Lokayukta police nabbed the accused Anoop Bose, when he was taking bribe of Rs. 5,000 from complainant named Mukesh Rathore, working as farmer.


According to Lokayukta police, Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta, Anil Vishwakarma they received a complaint from resident of Ward Number-3 in Nainpur, named Mukesh Rathore that submitted application for taking new electricity connection for irrigation of his farm situated in village Sohagpur. The Assistant Engineer, Anoop Bose demanded bribe of Rs. 10,000 for providing electricity connection under the scheme of company. Mukesh Rathore already gave him cash of Rs. 5,000.


Acting on the complaint, a team of Lokayukta police fielded the appellant for collecting evidences.
Once the information was confirmed, Lokayukta police team reached at office of electricity department and trapped the corrupt government employee while taking cash of Rs. 5,000 from the appellant.


Lokayukta police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act while further investigations are underway. During the trap, Lokayukta police team was led by DSP, Dilip Jharbade comprised of Inspector, Kamal Uikay, Inspector, Swapnil Das, Constables, Bhupendrad, Surendra and Jeet Singh.
