Actress Avika Gor of Balika Vadhu fame says there was a time when she wanted to focus on directing films and quit acting. The Sasural Simar Ka actress took a break for some time but not because she wasn’t getting offers.

“There were a few (shows that I turned down) because I was not ready to come back to TV. That was the biggest reason and not because the stories were bad. I had taken a break for a reason... to focus on filmmaking studies and making films. I was also travelling for festivals. I wanted to find out whether I wanted to act or not,” Avika told IANS.
“I was so involved in direction at one point of time that I said ‘I don’t want to act. I am a director’. Now, I think that I can do both,” she added.

Avika and actor Manish Raisinghani had launched the poster of their short movie Ankahee Baatein at the 69th Cannes Film Festival’s Short Film Corner last year.
The earlier show Na Aana Is Des Laado premiered in 2009 on Colors channel and enjoyed a good run till its end in 2012. Now, the makers are back with chapter two - Laado - Veerpur Ki Mardaani.

She is currently seen playing a law student in the show. She plays the role of a final year law student who is very bright and righteous in Laado - Veerpur Ki Mardaani.
This isn’t her first project with Colors channel. After Balika Vadhu, she did Sasural Simar Ka with the same channel.

“Colors has adopted me. I am approached for every show. Whichever I like, they say ‘Okay, fine do it. But yeah, my first show was not with Colors. I had done a lot of shows. Balika Vadhu is the show that gave me fame. It was of Colors. Since then, the channel has treated me as their own. It means a lot for me… you know that a channel is supporting you. It’s a huge thing,” she said.
