Staff Reporter,

CHIEF Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that his Government is running various schemes for the welfare of tribals in State. Praising the schemes, he told that Congress had never thought of such kind of revolutionary things.
He was addressing the concluding session of State-level executive committee of Scheduled Tribe Morcha at BJP Headquarters.

He added that arrangement has been to provide wheat, rice and iodine salt at Rs 1 per kg to tribals. Such kind of arrangement has been done for the first time in the country. Tribal castes such as Saharia, Baiga, Bharia still lags behind and they have different kind of problems. Hence, there is need to tackle out these problems separately.
In this regard, BJP ST Morcha should hold the special conventions and chaupals and this work should be done from January till April-June.

He added that on the basis of traditional encroachment, Government provided more than 2 lakh forest dweller pattas and this work is still continuing. He told that benefit of scholarship is being given to tribal students and even if any student wants to study in abroad then the Government will bear their study expenditure.
He asked BJP ST Morcha workers to increase live contact with tribals and try to solve their problems and ensure benefits of Government facilities to them.

The Chief Minister claimed that forest produce will not be allowed to get sold at throw away price and minimum support price of Rs 100 to ‘Chirongi’ is an example in this regard.
Understanding the value of tribal voters, Chouhan told that mandate of tribals plays an important role in elections and hoped that BJP will get tribals’ support in 2018 Assembly elections as well.

In political proposal, concern was expressed that some anti national forces are trying to distort tribal lifestyle by trying to potray tribals different from Hindu community.
