CM ‘connects’ with villagers, seeks feedback on welfare schemes

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh on Tuesday spoke to couple of villagers as a part of the ‘Jansanvad’ programme from his official residence. He elicited information from the two villagers regarding the implementation of several social welfare projects. He asked about the functioning of gram panchayats, sarpanch and patwari. He inquired about the sale of illicit liquor in their respective villages.


Chief Minister first rang up Devkumar, a resident of village Jaitpuri development block Pandaria district Kawardha. He asked the villager whether a ration card had been prepared by him. ‘There are five members in his family. He receives 35 kilogram of rice per month. Parents have their own ration card and they get 14 kilogram rice’.


Chief Minister then asked them regarding the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme. Devkumar said he has Smart Card. Chief Minister told the villager that he can avail medical facility up to Rs 50,000 now. He does not need new Smart Card. Dev Kumar said that he had been allocated domestic gas connection as a part of Prime Minister ‘Ujjwala’ project on a registration fee of only Rs 200. Dr Raman Singh also asked about the drinking water facility. Devkumar said that there is no drinking water problem in the area. He also said that he has single bulb electricity connection. He had constructed a toilet at a cost of Rs 12,000 as a part of the Swachh Bharat mission. Devkumar revealed that there is no illicit distillation in the village.


During interaction with the Chief Minister over telephone, Balram resident of village Jhulna development block Nawagarh district Bemetara said that Smart Card had been allocated to him. His name is on the second list of ‘Ujjwala’ scheme. There is no drinking water problem as he has his own boring well. The Chief Minister informed about the Prime Minister ‘Mudra’ Yojana. He informed Balram that he can avail loan facility for small trade purposes. Loans are provided without a guarantor and at less rate of interest.
