Jabalpur-Nainpur train flagged off on new broad gauge line

The new train on Broad Gauge line connecting Jabalpur to Nainpur was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Railway, Rajen Gohain in a ceremony held at Nainpur Railway station on Tuesday. Union Minister of State Gohain also dedicated the Narrow Gauge Rail Museum at Nainpur.


Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Mandla, Faggan Singh Kulaste, Member of Parliament from Jabalpur, Rakesh Singh, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Sampatiya Uikey, MLA Yogendra Singh, MLA Sanjeev Chotelal Uikey, Zilla Panchayat President, Saraswati Maravi, Bharatiya Janata Party District President, Ratan Singh Thakur, Seoni BJP District President, Rakesh Pal, SECR, General Manager, Sunil Singh Soin, Divisional Railway Manager, Nagpur Amit Agrawal were specially present on the occasion.


At the outset, Union MoS Rajen Gohain along with other dignitaries were welcomed by GM SECR, Sunil S. Soin and DRM Nagpur, Amit Agrawal followed by green signal to maiden journey of BG train and also inauguration of NG museum.


Addressing the programme, Gohain said that the train would connect this region with the mainstream of development facilitating the villagers with connectivity to different major centres of the country. Besides this the project of BG conversion of Jabalpur-Gondia line is of utmost importance and Government has decided to speed-up the work and complete the work by end of 2018, pre-poning it from the previous schedule of 2019. He further added that by 2018 our prime target to connect Balaghat from Nainpur and this would be a major success. He further highlighted other development works of railway infrastructures are being carried out in Madhya Pradesh and informed that electrification of Gondia Jabalpur Broad Gauge work has also been sanctioned and work would start in the coming months. Union Government under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal have also taken several decision with regard to development of Railways sector, the Union Minister added further.


Senior BJP leader and MP, Mandla, Faggan Singh Kulaste, MP Jabalpur, Rakesh Singh, MP (Rajya Sabha), Sampatiya Uikey greeted the people of Nainpur on this occasion.
SECR GM, Sunil Singh Soin informed that Jabalpur-Balaghat section gauge conversion of 115 km from Narrow Gauge to Broad Gauge has been completed from Jabalpur to Nainpur. As it now in the post gauge conversion, operation of BG trains has started in the section in two phases including Jabalpur-Sukrimangela and from Sukrimangela to Ghansaur and in third phase would connect to Nainpur from Ghansaur.


With final commissioning of 115 km track between Jabalpur to Nainpur passengers trains numbered 51703/51704, 51705/51706 and 51707/51708 would run between Jabalpur to Nainpur giving much needed respite to the people belonging to this region. DRM, Nagpur Division, Amit Agrawal proposed a vote of thanks.
