Driver dies after Hywa falls into nullah

RECKLESS driving claimed life of a Hywa driver late on Wednesday night when one Hywa (MH 40 AK 5601) fell into Ghughri Pata nullah around 35 below the bridge. The driver lost control over the vehicle while crossing the bridge and rammed into railing of the bridge and feel into the nullah. The incident was reported to police while rescue operations were started on Thursday morning. Assistant driver of the truck remains missing as search is on to trace him. Body of the driver was found stuck in the weeds. According to information, reckless driving claimed life of a person late on Wednesday night when a Hywa (MH 40 AK 5601) fell into Ghughri Patanullah under Chargawan police station. The incident was reported to police who reached the spot but due to darkness rescue operations could not be started.


On Thursday morning, in rescue operation body of the truck driver was found stuck in weeds. Accordingly the body was pulled out by rescue team followed by panchnama by police.
At the time of panchnama, the driver was identified as Rammu alias Ramgopal Daulatram(54), a resident of village Gangai. The truck was on its way to Jabalpur when the driver lost control and the vehicle fell into the nullah. The assistant driver is reported missing. Rescue operations suffered a set back for want of adequate resources.

The vehicle is yet to be lifted from the accident spot. After the deceased was identified on the basis of driving credentials, his family members were informed who reached the accident spot and identified him as Rammu alias Ramgopal Daulatram(54). SHO Chargawan Shivram Tarole informed that the mishap occurred late on Wednesday night and after being informed a team reached the spot and took stock of the situation. The rescue operation was started on Thursday morning with help of locals and members of rescue team the body was found at a distance stuck in weed. We have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC after autopsy was performed, the body was handed over to family members of the deceased. Search to locate the driver’s assistant is on as further investigations are underway.
