HCL Foundation’s CSR symposium

HCL Foundation, the philanthropic arm of HCL Technologies, organised a CSR symposium on ‘Socio-economic developmental challenges and solutions’ in the city on Thursday.

The symposium was inaugurated by Nanda Jichkar, Mayor of Nagpur in the presence of Dr Deepak Mhaisekar, Chairman of NIT. Nidhi Pundir, Director CSR and Head of HCL Foundation, Sanjay Gupta, Senior Vice-President of HCL Technologies and Ajay Davessar, Vice-President and Global Head of HCL were also present at the event.

On the occasion, Jichkar said, “This is a commendable initiative by HCL Foundation and we will give them the support they need. It is my personal experience that for effective solutions to challenges faced by communities various constituents like development sector, Government, private enterprise need to work together. Therefore programmes like the HCL Symposium offer a good platform for initiating a multi stakeholder dialogue.”

Nidhi Pundhir, Director CSR and Head of HCL Foundation said, “We at HCL are delighted to spread our wings across the country. With the proposed HCL Technologies campus in MIHAN coming up in the first week of April 2018. This is the opportune time for HCL Foundation to initiate a dialogue with local communities and civil society to better understand socio-economic challenges faced by urban communities living below poverty line and propose projects that address the developmental needs.”

“The effort from HCL will offer locals an opportunity to develop global careers without having a need to migrate from their home town,” said Sanjay Gupta, Senior V-P of HCL Technologies.
