President on two-day visit to Raipur from November 5

President Ram Nath Kovind will be visiting Giraudpuri, the birth place of Baba Guru Ghasi Das on November 6. In this direction necessary preparations have been initiated at Giraudpuri for the President’s visit.

On Wednesday, Food Minister Punnulal Mohle and Cooperatives Minister Dayaldas Baghel along with MP Kamladevi Patle, Parliamentary Secretary Sanam Jangde, MLA Ramlal Chauhan, Tribal Welfare Commissioner Reena Baba Saheb Kangale, IG G P Singh, Divisional Commissioner Brajesh Chandra Mishra, Balodabazar Collector and SP as well as other officials concerned visited Giraudpuri and reviewed the preparation works.

It is worth mentioning here that President Ram Nath Kovind will be visiting Raipur on November 5 on a two day tour. On November 5, the President will be participating in the Valedictory Session of Rajyotsav celebrations at Naya Raipur as Chief Guest. On November 6, the President will be visiting Giraudpuri at around 11am and will stay there till 12.30pm. It may be recalled that during his previous as Governor of Bihar, he had visited Giraudpuri and now that he’s become the President of India, he had intended to visit Giraudpuri again. He will be first President of India to visit Giraudpuri, which is birthplace of Baba Guru Ghasi Das, where the world’s biggest Jaitkham is situated. He will also be the first President to visit a place which is a place of worship for a community in the state.

The massive Jaitkham built in Giraudpuri, with an objective for spreading the messages and ideology that ‘all humans are equal’, propagated by the great social reformer Guru Ghasidas Baba and for giving a new identification to the place. During his visit to the birthplace of Guru Baba Ghasidas, the President will be having interaction with the Gurus of Satnami Sect. Though the President is likely to address a public meeting there but as of now there is no official confirmation in this direction.

After visiting Giraudpuri on November 6, he will return to Swami Vivekanand Airport directly and leave for New Delhi. The function will also be attended by Governor Balramji Dass Tandon, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and his Cabinet colleagues, Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal as well as eminent personalities from Satnami community will be present.

After the visit of several national leaders from both Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress during last one year, the President will be visiting Giraudpuri.
