Narmada to be connected with Gambhir river by Feb 2018: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that after Kshipra river, now Narmada river will also be connected with Gambhir river by February next year. Later, Parvati, Kalisindh and Narmada river will be expanded up to Chambal.
CM Chouhan was addressing a general public meeting of Antyodaya Mela organised on the occasion of Vikas Yatra in Mahidpur town of Ujjain district.
He said that if the farmer of Malwa is provided sufficient water then he can do wonders in farming. He said that the government is with the farmers.


Discussing Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana, He said Government has introduced this scheme to save the farmers from the loss incurred due to sale of crop for a lesser amount than the support price. He said that the children of farmers can avail the benefits of Krishak Udyamita Yojana and set up their own enterprise besides farming. He assured people that in coming four years, all poor will have their own concrete houses.


He also said that Government is going to form a law soon which will ensure provision of death penalty to the rapist.
Moreover, he also made announcement regarding local development works and handed over keys of house constructed at a cost of Rs 1.20 lakh to beneficiaries. He announced that Jharda tappa will be given the status of tehsil and a college will open in Jharda in the next academic session. 33 KV power sub stations will be established in Borkheda, Petlawad and Gelakhedi of Mahidpur tehsil. A stopdam will be constructed on the bank of Khsipra river in Dugaria village. Apart from this he announced approval of fund for construction stadium and park in Nagar Palika Mahidpur and for approving pipeline to make drinking water available in
Mahidput from Kardakhedi dam. He announced to approve Rs 2 lakhs for celebration of Martyrs Day every year in memory of martyrs who laid down their lives in the war between Marathas and the Britishers on December 20. He said that drinking water will be provided to all villages with 1000 population through Nal-Jal Yojana instead of hand pump in state. Member of Parliament Dr. Chintamani Malviya, MLA Bahadur Singh Chouhan, Dilip Singh Shekhawat, Dr. Mohan Yadav etc were present on this occasion.
