Challans served to 605 vehicle owners, Rs 1.54 lakhs penalty recovered

Traffic police started a rigorous checking against violation of traffic norms and served challans to a total of 605 vehicle owners. Traffic police have recovered financial penalty amounting to Rs 1.54 lakhs from the vehicle owners. Under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic/Crime), Sandeep Mishra, separate police teams conducted rigorous checking at Naudara bridge,Malviya Chowk, Indira Market and Mal Godam areas.

During the checking of vehicles at Naudara Bridge, a traffic police constable stopped a triple riding motorcycle. The miscreants riding on the motorcycle argued with the constable and manhandled him. Witnessing the incident, traffic police personnel reached the spot and managed to catch two of the three accused while another accused managed to escape from the spot.

Traffic police personnel handed over the two accused to Omti police and lodged a complaint against them. Besides this, traffic police teams served a total of 605 challans including 593 challans to motorcycle riders due to not using helmets while driving while 11 challans were served for violation of traffic norms and recovered financial penalty of Rs 1.54 lakh.
