Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrated with gaiety

Extending his heartiest wishes to one and all on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Governor Balramji Das Tandon said Guru Nanak Devji has always emphasized on noble works and appealed the people to follow his footsteps.


The Governor observed these views in a programme organized by Shri Guru Singh Sabha. On the occasion the Governor paid obeisance to Guru Granth Sahib and also got engrossed in Shabd Kirtan. Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal was also present on the occasion. He said in the era of Guru Nanak Devji, there were numbers of social disparities and he worked for removing such ill-practices and showed the path of simplicity and truth. By his message ‘Kirat Karo’ Guru Nanak Dev meant that everyone should work hard and lead a life where there is good deeds. He called upon the people to follow the path shown by Guru Nanak Devji.


Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh also paid his obeisance to Guru Granth Sahib and sought blessings for the prosperity and happiness of the state and its people. Extending his best wishes to one and all, the Chief Minister said all people are equal and there should be no discrimination. The Langar culture propagates equality, a message given by Guru Nanak Devji. He said with the blessings of Guru Nanak Devji, the people from Sikh community have been able to establish themselves not only in India but in various parts of the world as well.


Present on the occasion were MLA Srichand Sundrani, Dileep Singh Hora, Harvansh Singh Chawla, Niranjan Singh Khanuja, Preetpal Singh Hora, Inderjeet Singh Chabda, Satpal Singh Khanuja, Tejinder Singh Hora, Surendra Hanspal and large
number of people from Sikh community.
