MLA Sinha receives threats for not developing region

MLA from Sanjari Balod Assembly Bhaiyaram Sinha has received a threatening letter from some anti-social elements. Since the letter was addressed by Lal Salam, therefore, it is apprehended that the letter might have been written by the Maoists.


The letter threatens MLA for not carrying out development work in the region and the pathetic condition of the roads. The Red rebels have given 15 days ultimatum to MLA for development. As soon as the letter was received, MLA Bhaiyaram Sinha informed the Balod SP. The MLA Sinha received the letter through post on Friday noon.


Sender’s name was Lal Salam which is the slogan of Naxalites. The letter sent the police officials into tizzy. The outlaws have given 15 days time to MLA to get the roads repaired in 15 days time in Gurur region. The extremists have also termed bonus distribution as fake. Naxalites have criticised the BJP and Congress. Lal Salam is a term which denotes Naxalites. The Gurur region in Balod district is the home district of MLA. The villages Petechuva, Mangaltarai and Kuchwahi. These are the villages linked to Bastar.


There is continuous information of Maoists activities in the district. Gurur police station in Balod, Daundi police station in Mahamaya, Dalli Rajhara, Lohra, Balod and Magchuva Devri all are Naxalite police stations. MLA is worried over getting Lal Salam letter. Meanwhile, MLA Bhaiyaram Sinha said that he had already informed to SP about threatening letter. He said that he was not afraid of such threats. So far development is concerned, the people of the region knew it, said MLA.SP Deepak Jha said that this could be the handiwork of anti-social elements. After investigation, he would be able to say anything, said SP.
