Finally action taken against illicit liquor units

Cracking the whip against those involved in manufacturing of illegal and raw liquor, the Excise Department raided two places, Chirchira Mohgaon of Barghat and Silghat. The country made liquor manufacturing units were destroyed by officials of Excise Department. In the raid conducted, cops seized 900 kilograms of Mahua raw material used for making of liquor and 80 litres of raw liquor. Ten accused involved in making of country liquor have been apprehended by the police team. The Excise Department raid in villages has caused large scale panic among those involved in the illegal trade of country liquor.

According to information from Assistant Excise Officer Pranay Shrivastava, “we had received complaints of flourishing trade of manufacturing of country liquor in villages under Barghat. Accordingly a team was constituted who raided three locations within the village area. One country liquor manufacturing unit was found operating in the village outskirts close to forest area.” Taken by surprise, those involved in the manufacturing unit attempted to resist but were apprehended. The accused have been identified as Dhannobai, Rajkumari, Kalabai, Dulari Bai, Bindey, Dallu and Tulsiram all residents of Chirchira village.
