Human trafficking: Two girls rescued, 3 youths arrested

Police have rescued two girls with the arrest of three youths on charge of human trafficking here recently.
The accused were identified as Nandlal Ram Khadiya (24), Satnand Ram Khadiya (23) and Shyam Sundar Rana (37). Nandlal and Satnand are local residents of Kumharbahar whereas Rana belongs to West Bengal.


On April 4, 2016, a Kumharbahar resident Ushawatibai had filed a missing complaint of her daughter in Farsabahar police station. Ushawatibai informed that an unidentified person had taken away her daughter on pretext of providing her job in metro cities.


During investigation, police came to know that two suspicious villagers Nandlal and Satnand managed to escape. Later, police tracked location of suspects and arrested them.
During interrogation, the two informed about the kingpin Shyam Sundar Rana, who recently sold four girls of Kumharbahar village in Baro, Rajasthan. They informed that out of four girls, two managed their escape and came back to village whereas two are still in Baro. Based on this information, Superintendent of Police Prashant Singh Thakur constituted a special team comprising Sub-Inspector Sunil Das, constables Shashikant, Deepak Banjarey, Salim Kujur, Rameshwar Satranj and lady constable Punamanibai to nab the accused Rana. Under the guidance of SP Thakur, the team raided different places and nabbed Rana from Koshtha village in Mayurbhanj district, Odisha. Police have rescued two girls and sent three accused to jail.
