Two scrap-dealers’ godown raided

A COMBINED team of Crime Branch Jabalpur and Adhartal police raided godowns of two scrap-dealers and detained four men for investigation about suspicious vehicles’ scrap near Karonda by-pass under jurisdiction of Adhartal police station on Sunday.


Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Sandeep Mishra informed that acting on a tip-off, a combined team of Crime Branch and Adhartal police led by SHO Vipin Tamrakar conducted raids at godowns of scrap-dealers Haider Munda and Saiyyad Mohammed Hussain Rizvi. During the raid, the team found that workers were engaged in dismantling suspicious vehicles. Police team have seized seven engines of trucks, two trucks and spares from scrap godown of Haider Munda and a suspicious truck was seized from scrap godown of Sayyed Mohammed Hussain Rizvi.

Besides this, police team have detained Haider Munda, his son Irshad Ali, Sohrab Ali and Hussain Rizvi while further investigations are underway to identify scrapped vehicles and verification of their documents. Additional SP (Crime) Sandeep Jain said that illegal action will be taken against scrap-dealers in case of finding any irregularity in documentation of suspicious trucks.
