Herdsman listening to music on cellphone using earphones run over by oncoming train

LISTENING to music on cellphone using earphones and crossing railway line proved costly for a young herdsman as he was run over a by a train at Elkapar near Kohli Railway Station on Monday. Identified as Aakash Prabhakar Bhoyar (24), the deceased was a resident of village Susundri.


Aakash had taken cattle, including bullocks, from his village to an open land for grazing on Monday morning. While returning in the evening, he put on his phone earplugs and started listening to songs. He was crossing the railway track in front of Kohli railway station. The music drowned out the sound of the approaching Rajdhani Express. Aakash was run over by the train having failed to hear the warnings of bystanders.


Eyewitnesses said that train driver sounded the horn many times but it went unheard and he was crushed to death.
Soon after receiving the information, staff from Kalmeshwar Police Station rushed to the spot. Cops sent the mutilated body to Kalmeshwar Rural Hospital for post-mortem.
