Man held for stealing soldier’s kit

Alert cops of RPF Post, Jabalpur succeeded in apprehending an accused and seized a double barrel rifle, six live cartridges and its kit from him at Jabalpur Railway Station, on Monday. The rifle, along with its kit, was stolen from a soldier of Border Security Force (BSF).


The accused has been identified as Govinda Domar (33), son of Betulal Domar, a resident of Prem Sagar in Hanumantal.
SHO of RPF Jabalpur Post, Virendra Singh informed that keeping vigilant eye on suspicious activities in the railway station, a patrolling team of RPF held doubt on a suspected man, who tried to hide himself from security personnel. Acting promptly on the suspicious act of man, RPF personnel detained him and seized a bag from him.


The accused tried to misguide the security personnel, but in a rigorous interrogation, he confessed to stealing the bag from a passenger and hid it in husk near the platform. On the identification of accused, RPF team retrieved the stolen bag and found a 12-bore double barrel rifle in three parts body number 10895-97, six live cartridges of 12-bore printed with KL-12, three iron rods of cleaning gun barrel, case of cartridge amounting to Rs 65,000 in the bag.
The case was handed over to GRP Jabalpur for further investigation into the case.


Investigating the case, GRP learnt that a man named Rambir Singh (45), son of Chunbad Boria, a resident of village Chirhuta in district Banda of Uttar Pradesh, posted in BSF, on November 5, 2017, lodged a complaint that his bag containing rifle, live cartridges and identity card of BSF was stolen in the train. GRP Jabalpur registered a case under Section 41 (1-4) of CrPC and Section 379 of the IPC.
