BJP Govt is stable, doing well, claims Bhandari while taking pot-shots at Sena leadership for its double-speak

IN the backdrop of meeting between Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP’s) Chief Spokesperson Madhav Bhandari on Tuesday claimed that the BJP led Maharashtra Government is facing no threat. The government will smoothly complete its tenure of five years, Bhandari asserted while launching a blistering attack on Shiv Sena leadership and Sena Ministers demanding their performance evaluation.

It may be recalled that Pawar himself disclosed the details of his meeting with Thackeray held 10 days ago in Mumbai in which Sena chief reportedly sought his advice on State politics.

Bhandari, while interacting with mediapersons at Patrakar Bhavan on Tuesday evening, said, the BJP formed the government without support of any political party. The Shiv Sena joined the government after we won the confidence motion on the floor of the house, Bhandari stated. We accepted their support for the stability of the government. If they do not wish to remain in the government, then we do not have any problem as government does not face any threat, he made it amply clear. The members of the Legislative Assembly are not willing to withdraw support of the government, he claimed.

Taking pot-shots at Shiv Sena leadership for giving up its tradition to meet any political leader and even top ministers only at Matoshree, Bhandari wondered as to why the present Sena leadership met Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee in a hotel at South Mumbai.

Replying to an allegation levelled by Party’s MP Nana Patole, Bhandari said, the people of Bhandara district are unhappy with the performance of Patole. If he is angry with the performance of the government, then he should express his views before the party platform. The party has given him complete respect, Bhandari stated while rejecting Patole’s charge of unfair treatment.

Responding to a specific question, Bhandari also opined that the ministers of Shiv Sena should make public their performance before the people of Maharasthra. They should explain the cause of malnutrition deaths, distribution of MIDC lands, and performance in environmental field, Bhandari dared. They are enjoying the power in Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation and their work should be verified, he suggested while dropping enough hints that at party level BJP would adopt a tit-for-tat policy vis-avis-Sena.

Bhandari claimed that the State Government has performed well in last three years in all the sectors including irrigation, industries and agricultural growth. He claimed that the agriculture witnessed 12.5 percent growth in the state while government has attracted foreign direct investment worth of Rs 1.29 lakh crore during last financial year.

The government has created new jobs in last three years. The BJP government is also working on fabric to fashion process to develop textile park in Amravati. The Fadnavis government has expedited the developmental process in the state. MLC Girish Vyas, BJP functionaries Kishor Palandurkar, Bhojraj Dumbe, and Chandan Goswami were present.
