Sex racket busted, 2 girls rescued

COPS attached to Social Security Wing of Crime Branch busted a sex racket and rescued two young girls after raiding a flat in Hudkeshwar Police Station area on Tuesday. Police arrested two women who were running the brothel in a rented flat.

The accused have been identified as Ashwini alias Swati Ranjit Maske (40), a resident of Shahu Nagar, and Mohini alias Prachi Murlidhar Chanore (25), a resident of Darshan Colony, near KDK College, Nandanvan.

Police got information that that accused Ashwini and Mohini had taken a flat No 302 at Rajas Vighnaharta Apartment, Gayatri Nagar on Manish nagar Road, Besa, on rent and were operating the sex racket. Cops also came to know that they bring young girls from other states and drag them into flesh trade for self gains.

Subsequently, a decoy customer was sent to the flesh. After confirming that the two women were running the brothel, a team comprising PI Shubhada Sankhe, API Anupama Jagtap, API Amita Jaipurkar, ASI Ajay Jadhav, HC Damodar Rajurkar, NPC Manju Fulbandhe, PC Chhaya Raut, PC Poonam Ramteke, ASI Baliram Rewatkar (photographer), drivers Vaishali and Anil Dubey, social worker Nalanda Ganar and Sangeeta Dhomne, under the supervision of DCP (Crime) Sambhaji Kadam raided the flat. The team rescued the two girls. Cops took Ashwini Maske and Mohini Chanore into into custody and registered an offence under Sections 370 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 3,4,5 and 7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act against them at Hudkeshwar Police Station.
