C’garh State Women Commission to organise Virangana March on 18th

Chhattisgarh State Women Commission is going to organize Virangana March to celebrate birth anniversary of Rani Laxmi Bai, commonly known as Jhasi Ki Rani on 18 November.


Harshita Pandey, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Women Commission, addressing media persons said a grand march will be taken out by the woman and girls to mark the occasion. The march will be comprised of NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides and sports persons will take part in the procession. Women dressed in attire of Rani Laxmi Bai will be seen during the procession. Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh will flag off the march at Marin Drive in presence of Chairperson of National Women Commission. The march will conclude at Indoor Stadium Budhapara.


Pandey further informed that the aim of the rally is to develop patriotism and to inculcate self confidence in them. The inspiring incidents of Rani Laxmi Bai’s life will be narrated on the occasion. About 5000 girls of NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides, will assemble at Marin Drive at 8:30 am. During Verangana March over 1000 girls will be dressed in the attire of Rani Laxmi Bai, about 50 horses, 10 horse carriage and three trailers will carry the girls dressed in traditional attire of Rani Laxmi Bai. About 4000 girls dressed in karate uniforms will demonstrate Marshal Arts Karate, Kick boxing and other sports. Cultural programmes will also be organized at Budhapara Indoor stadium.
