Several events organised to mark 33rd foundation day of NCL

The 33rd foundation day of the Northern Coalfields Limited, the Mini Ratna Company of the Government of India, was celebrated, on Tuesday. Various programsmeswere organised in presence of Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the company, B R Reddy as chief guest. NCL Director (Personnel), Shashilata Sahu, Director (Technical and Operation), Gunadhar Pandey and Director (Finance), PSR K Shastri were present as special guests.

The programme commenced with paying tribute to martyrs at Shaheed Smarak. Followed by garlanding the statue of Miner and NCL flag-hoisting. This was followed by address of CMD as chief guest. He said that it a matter of pride for us that NCL started production with 11 million tones in 1985 and now it is 84 million tonne production capacity. He said NCL in current fiscal year is progressing to accomplish 91-million tonn coal production target. The company would accomplish its target like previous year and would produce more Coal. He appealed the officials and employees to work united for the implementation of different programs of the company and welfare of employees.

On this occasion six outstanding players including Jyoti Chourasia, Prakash Chourasia, Lal Sunder Singh of Singraulia and from Sonbhadra district Sandeep Gupta, Vindesh Kumar Malviyaa and Kunwar Gyanendra Singh were felicitated with cash prize of Rs 20,000 each.
Jyoti Chourasia and her brother Prakash Chourasia honoured for scuring Gold Medla in 28th All India Karate Federation Cup 2016-17 in Jaipur performing U14 and 16 year category. Lal Sunder Singh honoured for representing MP team as Skipper in School Games Federation of India in Dewas.

Sandeep Gupta bagged Gold Medal in 120 Kg Weight Category of All India Power Lifting Championship in Jammu organised by Association of India Universities. Vindesh Kumar Malviya bagged Gold Medal in two national championships including Subrata Classic Power Lifting Championship 2016-17 and Subrata International Power Lifting Championship 2016-17 by successfully lifting 66 kg weight category.

Kunwar Gyanendra Singh bagged the Gold medal in 14th Federation Cup National Junior Under 20 Athletic Championship.
In the evening a cultural program was organised in which officials of NCL management, employees and their families have participated.
