Narmada Sewa Samitis to be constituted in every village

To ensure cleanliness of Narmada devotees will be given responsibility. In this regard Narmada Sewa Samitis will be constituted in every village. The decision has been taken in a meeting of Narmada Sewa Mission at the Collectorate on Friday. Madhya Pradesh Gaupalam Evam Pashudhan Samvardhan Board, Chairman, Mahamandleshwar Swami Akhileshwaranand Ji Swami was specially present, while Collector Mahesh Chandra Choudhary and Superintendent of Police Shashikant Shukla was specially present.

Collector Choudhary enlightened views on objectives of Narmada Sewa Mission said its main motive is to keep water of Narmada clean. We have to ensure that contaminated, untreated used water should not be released from drains into river. Water conservation and harvesting should be done in sustainable manner. He emphasised on need of conservation and protection of plantation done few days ago. To work on objectives of Narmada Sewa Mission in every village societies should be constituted, but should be mobilized and participation of people who are enthusiast and devoted to serve Narmada.

Swami Akhileshwaranand Ji said objective of the Narmada Sewa Yatra is to ensure clean Narmada from its origin point to the boundary of Madhya Pradesh by protecting it from pollution. It is responsibility all of us to protect Narmada River from pollution and to ensure it’s continuous flow. Steps should be taken to stop pollution form outside or inside. All sorts of activities affecting natural bio-diversity or cleanliness should be stopped permanently. He advised for this alone Administration is not sufficient the society has to come forward and initiate efforts with commitment to protect river Narmda by maintaining its purity and sanctity. He said that after Narmada Sewa Yatra many cases of illegal mining of sand brought in attention of Administration. He hoped that if the Narmada Sewa Samiti would work honestly on objectives then the desired goal to make river free from pollution could be attained. In the meeting it has been decided that at every bank of river Narmada a Narmada Sewa Samiti should be constituted at local level that would ensure cleanliness of river in its approach areas. Collector on this issue assured that in this regard responsibility would be given to SDM, Tehsildar and one Police Officer. On every bank one officer of Nagar Nigam and Nagar Parishad Bhedaghat for Bhedaghat bank would be apointd.

It is decided that the devotees would keep eye on banks of river Narmada and local administration and police would provide them required assistance in ensure proper security and safety of ghats. In this regard Collector directed SDM to list of names of devotees. CEO Jila Panchayat has been given responsibility to constitute committees on the basis of lists. Shahpura Mandi Chairman, Neeraj Singh advised to initiate action the people act illegal or anti-social act on the banks as the picture of their loaded on Helpline.

Accepting the advice Collector directed to ensure action in this direction. Mr. Singh further appreciated the success rate of women groups in controlling addiction and said in protection of Narmada also women groups could work wonder.

Collector ordered Mining Officer and Superintendent Of Police to ensure strict implementation of orders issued in regard to illegal mining and asked to register criminal case against violators. Collector Choudhary hoped that the constitution of committee would ensure healthy atmosphere on the banks of River Narmada. He asked to identify people involve in alcoholism on the banks and that creates disturbance on ghats of Narmada. BJP City Chief, GS Thakur, BJP Rural, Shiva Patel and other pubic reprsenatives of the city also addressed the meeting. The meeting was attended by Additional SP, Sanjay Sahu, SDM Namrushivaya Arjaria, Jan Abiyaan Parishad’s Bheem Singh and other related departments officials were present.
