Tourism Minister promises to solve problems

A DELEGATION of Nagpur Residential Hotels Association (NRHA) led by its President Tejinder Singh Renu recently met Jaykumar Rawal, Tourism Minister of Maharashtra. In the meeting, Renu congratulated the Tourism Minister for various commendable steps being initiated on tourism front through Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) under his able command, including formation of progressive Tourism Policy 2016 for the State of Maharashtra. Tejinder Singh Renu also submitted the NRHA memorandum to the Minister.
Renu said, “Undoubtedly tourism potential in Maharashtra has no match; however most likely Annual Budget constrains bring limitations in the pace required for development.”

He suggested that the Budget allocation to Tourism Ministry be increased. NRHA will also write a letter to Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Sudhir Mungantiwar, State Finance Minister in this regard.

Renu said, “The washroom facilities within tiger reserves are maintained very poorly and need to be updated and suitably maintained for which they can be handed over to private players with their name on such facilities”. He mentioned, “State roads leading to tiger reserves are mostly in poor state and this makes travel speed extremely slow and tiring. So the first impression by a visitor is unsatisfactory which causes harm in long run to the tourism sector”.

Tourism Minister Rawal assured to take suitable decisions on issues raised by NRHA and also advised them to prepare seamless packages for tourists, including guests coming for trade in such a manner that in few hours of free time such guest could enjoy various tourist attractions of the city. “With mouth publicity and use of social media gradually growing it could give good name to the city and spur economic growth in the region. Moreover, Nagpur is poised to grow considerably in next 3-4 years with gigantic input in infrastructure and accordingly we need to be prepare on hospitality sector,” Rawal added.

The NRHA delegation consisted of Prakash Trivedi, Immediate Past President, Dr Ganesh Gupta, Vice-President, Deepak Khurana, Secretary, Deepak Pandey and Nitin Trivedi joint secretaries of NRHA.
