RAIPUR,

Farmers at Bhatagaon are showing great response to the organic manure produced at the Solid Liquid Resources Management (SLRM) centres.
Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) has set-up a Swacch Bharat Mission Kisaan camp near Zone-6 Office at Bhatagaon.
RMC is selling the organic manure produced at SLRM centre of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee ward of the stall.

Swacch Bharat Mission Sub-Engineer Lal Mahendra Singh stated that RMC sanitation workers collect organic wastes from homes every day. These organic wastes are then brought to the SLRM centres at different areas of the city and then they are turned into manure.

Through the camp setup at Bhatagaon, RMC is selling the organic manure at throwaway prices. Even the farmers have shown great interest in the effective, yet cheap manure.
Sub-Engineer Bharat Mission further told that as many as 60 urban farmers contacted the officials at the stall for purchasing the manure. All 13 quintal manure that was brought at the stall was sold out in a day. RMC has fixed the price at just Rs 3 per kilogram. Meanwhile, the farmers have put further demands for more manure and RMC has also assured them that their demands will be fulfilled. In future, such camps will be held in other villages on the periphery of the City.
