S K Phokmare, the newly appointed Civil Judge (Senior Division); Adv Chandrakant Akhande, President of Umred Taluka Bar Association, also shared the dais on the occasion.

Justice Deo unveiled the corner stone and lighted the traditional lamp. It was followed by a welcome song. For the purpose, the parties concerned and the lawyers should extend co-operation to the judges. The lawyers should make their point before the court to get justice for the parties concerned in minimum possible time, he said.

V D Dongre, Chief District and Sessions Judge, said that the there were 2,100 cases pending before the Umred Court. Considering this, the lawyers should extend co-operation for speedier disposal of cases. Computerisation has effected a great change in the working of courts and this helps in speedier disposal of cases, he said.

Earlier, making the introductory remarks, Adv Akhande recalled that Umred Taluka Bar Association had resorted to non-cooperation in 2015 to press for the demand of opening a Civil Court (Senior Division) in Umrer as advocates and their clients from the sub-division comprising Umred, Bhiwapur, and Kuhi tehsils were constrained to visit Nagpur every time in connection with their cases. He said that a dream had come true with the Civil Court (Senior Division) starting in Umred.
