RTMNU’s 104th convocation today

Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of All Indian Council for Technical Education to grace the convocation ceremony

The 104th convocation of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) will be held on Sunday at 10 am at Suresh Bhat auditorium. Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will deliver convocation address. Sahil Shyam Dewani, a student of G H Raisoni Law College will be honoured with 20 medals for securing highest marks in LLB (5 years).

In the convocation, degrees of the year 2016 will be distributed. Nisha Devanand Khotele, a student of Dhote Bandhu Science College, Gondia, has topped in BSc examination. She will receive 16 medals. Sheetal Kaushidas Wasnik, another student from Law faculty, stood third topper in university in all faculties. She will receive 14 medals for emerging topper in LLB (3 years) examination. She is the student of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law (City Branch), Nagpur.

Vice-Chancellor (V-C) Dr S P Kane will preside over the function. Pro-V-C Dr Pramod Yeole, Deans of all the four faculties, members of Management Council will be sharing the dais. Total 769 PhDs will be distributed in the convocation. Similarly, 57,259 degrees from all branches will be given. During the convocation, RTMNU will be conferring DLitt upon Dr Malti Sakhre and Dr Kadera Talib Shaikh (Zulfi).

Brief introduction of Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe

Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe is a graduate from BVB College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli under Karnataka University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a recipient of the gold medal. Later, he obtained Masters degree and completed Doctorate from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Prior to joining College of Engineering, Pune (CoEP), Dr Sahasrabudhe was a member of faculty at IIT Guwahati for 11 years. He was also a lecturer at NERIST, Itanagar. He served as the Director of College of Engineering, Pune (CoEP) from 2005-2015.
