Shikshakarmi dies in accident, another suffers heart-attack

One of the detained shikshakarmis suffered heart attack at temporary jail, Mahadeo Ghat, on Saturday. The shikshakarmi identified as Bariha had been admitted to Dr Ambedkar Hospital.  The district administration and police department had set up 25 check-posts at different entry points of the city to prevent shikshakarmis from reaching the dharna venue. Similarly, 12 temporary jail were formed to detain the striking shikshakarmis coming from different directions to participate in the mega rally in Raipur.

Around 500 shikshakarmis were detained by the police till reports last came. Another shikshakarmi Devendra Tiger, son of Dayaram Tiger, was killed when a truck hit him while he was returning from strike. The 30-year-old shikshakarmi of Junda in Pandaria, was returning home when the incident happened. He is survived by wife and two children apart from elderly parents. Shikshakarmis Mohan Rajput, Baldau Chandrakar, Umrao Dadsena and Devnath Patel blamed Govt’s stubborn attitude for the incident.
