‘Gutthi’ to bring new twist to city’s cleanliness campaign

Popular stand up comedian Sunil Grover also known as ‘Gutthi’ will attend public awareness programmes in city

Sunil Grover will reach the city on January 7 and attend main programme of Swachhta Survey at Gyan Ganga College


“DEVELOPMENT of Jabalpur as a Smart City could not be possible without participation of its residents. With an aim to encourage residents to ensure their contribution in Swachhta Sarvekshan-2018 under head of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, noted stand up comedian Sunil Grover popularly known as ‘Gutthi’ will attend public awareness programmes in the city. Most attractive event during the campaign will be surprise visit of Gutthi at any of the residences,” informed Mayor Dr Swati Godbole while addressing a press conference on Friday. Mayor Dr Swati Godbole added that Sunil Grover will reach the city on January 7. He will visit houses on the basis of cleanliness at its surroundings. He will attend main programme of Swachhta Survey to be organised at Gyan Ganga College.


The Mayor added that several innovative works are being carried out in the city under the head of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to ensure cent per cent public participation. Noted TV actor Sunil Grover has been invited to attract residents towards cleanliness campaign.


Residents who have downloaded Swachhta App will be given free entry passes to attend the main function of Sunil Grover. Under the direction of Mayor Dr Swati Godbole, a rigorous public awareness programme is being conducted in the city under supervision of Municipal Commissioner Vedprakash under head of Swachhta Sarvekshan-2018.


Brand ambassadors for different programmes have been deployed to create public awareness through wall painting, street plays, puppet shows etc.
During the press conference, Municipal Commissioner Vedprakash and MiC members informed that separation of wet and dry garbage is a significant work under ongoing cleanliness campaign.


For this, two separate garbage containers have been provided by the Corporation at market places i.e. green containers for wet waste, while blue containers is used for dry garbage for proper disposal. They also made an appeal to the residents to download Swachhta App to ensure their contribution in Swachhta Sarvekshan-2018 and making the city clean and healthy.
