Chairman of Sports Council of India felicitates MPOA Secretary Digvijay Singh

Madhya Pradesh Olympic Association (MPOA) Secretary Digvijay Singh was honoured by Professor Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Chairman, Sports Council of India on being elected as Executive Council member of Indian Olympic Association (IOA).

Digvijay Singh was honoured with other newly elected office-bearers of Indian Olympic Association in a graceful felicitation programme organised at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. On the occasion, V K Malhotra informed about vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for preparation of national players for better performance in Olympic Games 2020, 2024 and 2028.

A special task force has been constituted by the Government of India to prepare players and to provide them adequate facilities to nurture their potential.
He expressed hope that performance of Indian team will improve under supervision of Narendra Batra in Common Wealth Games in Australia in April 2018 and Asian Games. He expressed need to provide better medical and employment facilities to players.

Narendra Batra informed that Indian Olympic Association has a vision to bring sports on new heights with better coordination with Sports Authority of India.
Narendra Batra and Digvijay Singh expressed gratitude towards Sports Council of India for its valuable support in promotion of sports.

During the programme, IOA office-bearers including Sudhanshu Mittal, Anandeshwar Pandey, Lalit Bhanot, Omkar Singh, Kuldeep Vats, Rakesh Gupta, Namdeo Sirgaonkar, Sunaina Kumar, Trilochan Singh, G S Mander, Mushtaq Ahmed, Harjinder Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Vikram Singh Sisodhia, Karan Chowtala, R K Sancheti, Malav Saraf and others were present.
