Children’s rights must be persevered in State: Vij

Twelve-day long training programme on “Scaling of Child Protection Programme in Chhattisgarh” concluded at Chhattisgarh Police Academy Chandrakhuri on Friday. 169 police officers from various parts of the State participated in the training programme.


Addressing the concluding ceremony of the training programme, Additional Director General of Police (CID) R K Vij said that children’s rights must be persevered in the State.


Child’s right is so important that the Government of India has enacted various laws to protect it, he added. Vij said that the police officials must have knowledge about various provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012, Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and other laws. These laws should be effectively implemented to preserve the child’s rights, he added.


Sharing his experiences, R K Vij said that police officers should not hurt the sentiments of the victims, society or children while imparting their duties. ADGP said that the police officers should be trained with modern technologies and innovations that would be helpful to investigate cases with scientific methods. Railway SP Parul Mathur, State Police Academy SP Sadanand Kumar AIG Pooja Agrawal and other police officials attended the programme.
