Former Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha Member Devvrat Singh has left the Congress party on Friday. Devvrat Singh is likely
to join Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi).
Talking to local reporters at Kamal Vilas Palace, Khairagarh in Rajnandgaon district on Friday, Devvrat Singh said that he had resigned from the Congress party, saying that he is being ignored in the party.

“I am being ignored in the Congress party. I feel Congress has no need of mine. So I have decided to quit the party,” said Singh, who is also the party National Spokesperson.
“I was associated with Congress party from the age of 22 years. I became three times MLA from Khairagarh and one time MP from Rajnandgaon,” he added.

There is rumour that Devvrat Singh left Congress due to differences with CPCC President Bhupesh Baghel.
Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader T S Singhgeo said that the party would make all efforts to bring back Devvrat Singh into the Congress fold. “Devvrat Singh and his family have been associated with Congress for a long time.

They contributed to the party a lot. So I would make efforts to bring Devvrat Singh back into the party,” he said.
Replying to a query on difference with CPCC chief Baghel, Singhdeo said, “Difference of opinion is natural in any democratically functioning party. But Devvrat Singh should speak out his mind at the party forum and after that he can take a decision”.
