Mayor, Cleanliness Ambassadors take out awareness rally in city

Ahead of next months cleanliness survey that is crucial from city's point of view in terms of improving its ranking in country, Mayor Nanda Jichkar along with Cleanliness Ambassadors moved through city to create awareness among citizens. The team visited near Nagpur Railway Station and interacted with shopkeepers running their establishments below the fly-over and got to know their difficulties. The shopkeepers were asked to keep their surrounding clean and impressed its advantages and importance.

Activists of Green Vigil helped the shop owners download the swachhata app. Citizens gave good response to the rally taken out by Mayor and Ambassadors. The Central Government team is coming to city for survey and citizens should give proper answers, the Mayor appealed.
About 120 metric tonnes of solid waste is daily lifted from all over city and dumped in Bhandewadi Yard. Three drivers of vehicles engaged in transporting the garbage were felicitated by Mayor.

Additional Municipal Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jayant Dandegaokar, Health Officer (Cleanliness) Dr Pradeep Dasarwar, Cleanliness Ambassadors Dr Chandrashekhar Meshram, Dr Uday Bodhankar, Kaustav Chatterjee, Marathon runner Dr Amit Samarth, poet Madhup Pandey and RJ Niketa, Mangalwari Zone Assistant Commissioner Harish Raut, Additional Commissioner Rajesh Mohite, Laxminagar Zone Assistant Commissioner Suvarna Dakhne and other officials also were present.
