Sagar Mayor conducts surprise inspection of cleanliness work

Mayor Abhay Dare, on Sunday, conducted surprise inspection of ongoing cleaning work under Cleanliness Survey. He examined cleaning of drains, nullahs, roads and public toilets.


He visited many areas of Sant Ravidas ward and Bhagwanganj ward. During inspection, he also gave necessary directions to concerned senior officials. During inspection, Dare asked senior officials to ensure lifting of waste which is taken out from drains and nullahs. He also held discussions with residents on civic issues and listened to their problems. He also directed senior officials to redress the same early.


During inspection, the Mayor also urged the residents to segregate liquid and solid waste before handing over to the sanitary workers. He also apprised citizens about Swachha Survekshan 2018 and solicited their support. Dare also asked people to download Swachhta App on their mobile and register their civic complaints, related to uncleanliness through the Application. The Mayor also held discussion over the aid of Rs 2.50 crore given to beneficiaries under BLC of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and also asked concerned officials to ensure transfer of fixed amount in the Bank account of concerned beneficiaries timely.


He informed that during last year the city had achieved 23rd position in Swachh Survekshan 2017. He urged people support Municipal Corporation in gaining first position in the Survekshan. For that, he appealed residents to keep their surroundings clean. Do not throw domestic waste into drains and nullahs. And also shunt the act of dumping garbage along roads.


Dare appealed to people to hand over garbage to sanitary workers at doors to collect domestic waste. He said such simple habits could help make the city clean. Later, he asked all senior officials to ensure proper cleaning of public toilets of concerned areas. He also held talk with Nodal Officers, engaged in Swachh Survekshan and asked them to redress civic problems related to cleanliness. The Mayor also extended gratitude to the citizens for downloading Swachhta App. He informed that Sagar Municipal Corporation has achieved 34th rank in download of the App, on Sunday. He said the civic body jumped to 34th rank from 71th position in single day. He appealed residents to download the App and post more and more photographs of civic problems on the Application so that the civic body could come in top 10 cities of the country.


Amongst those also present during inspection were Corporator, Mahesh Ahirwar, Chetram Ahirwar, Keshav Patel, Nodal Officer, Ward Daroga and other employees of the Municipal Corporation.
