Staff Reporter,

RAIPUR,

Asserting that the 1.80 lakh Shikshakarmis working in the state are our sons and daughters, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said the State Government is seriously considering their demands. He welcomed the initiative on the part of Shikshakarmis towards voluntarily calling off their strike in the interest of students.

The Chief Minister while expressing his gratitude to the Shikshakarmis, said soon after they called off their strike, he had issued two orders today, wherein, two separate committees would be constituted for looking into their demands. He said the state government on the basis of reports submitted by both these committees will take decisions towards beneficiating the shikshakarmis. He further added that he had asked the respective district administration to release all shikshakarmis who were arrested and re-instate all those who were terminated/suspended. He said instructions were also issued for restoring the academic works in schools at the earliest.

On Tuesday evening a delegation of shikshakarmis led by Virendra Dubey, State President Shikshak (Panchayat avam Nagriya Nikay Morcha) Chhattisgarh, paid a courtesy call to Chief Minister at his official residence in the presence of Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh and Raipur Collector Om Prakash Chowdhary. The delegation comprised of Dharmesh Sharma, Chandrashekhar Tiwari, Jitendra Sharma, Hemkumar Sahu, Maruti Sharma, Shivendra Chandravanshi, Gajraj Singh, Ghanshyam Patel, Bhanu Dahriya, Omprakash Khairwar, Hemant Sonwani, Dronacharya Sahu, Rajesh Paul, etc.

BJP State President Dharamlal Kaushik while welcoming the decision by shikshakarmis to end the strike, said the BJP led state government is with them and all necessary steps will be taken accordingly for their betterment. He said since Congress regime in erstwhile Madhya Pradesh, the Congress is politicizing the issue for thief benefit in election. Now the people have understood that Congress can only mislead people on irrelevant issues.

BJP State Spokesperson Shivratan Sharma while extending his best wishes to the state government for solving the shikshakarmi issue said the Congress party under CPCC President Bhupesh Baghel does have the habit of creating ruckus on irrelevant issues and create an atmosphere of anarchy. He said the state government has already assured that it would consider the demands of shikshakarmis and keeping this in mind they had withdrawn their strike.

This was unacceptable for Congress as they lost a huge opportunity of creating ruckus and levelly false charges of suppression on state government.
