As per directives of Government of India, Ministry of MSME, MSME-DI, Nagpur is observing ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ from December 1, 2017 which will continue upto December 15, 2017. Under Swachh Bharat Pakhwada, all organisations/field offices under Ministry of MSME have been directed to take up cleanliness drives and awareness programmes in the industrial estates/clusters under their respective jurisdiction. The objective of the Pakhwada is ‘Swachchta’ should become a norm of all the offices. Special activities will be carried out during this Pakhwada.

Keeping this in view, MSME-DI, Nagpur recently organised programme on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in association with MIDC, Kalmeshwar on Tuesday at MIDC, Kalmeshwar. The programme was inaugurated by Liaquat Ali, President of MIDC, Kalmeshwar and presided over by B.Vijay Kumar, Deputy Director (I/c.), MSME-DI, Nagpur. Members of MIDC Kalmeshwar also attended the programme.

Liaquat Ali, President welcomed all the members/entrepreneurs and appreciated MSME-DI Nagpur for creating awareness about ‘Swachhata’ in industries and for observing ‘Swachchta Pakhwada.’ He said, “Cleanliness is very important aspect in any industry. Besides, cleanliness, safety of workers is also very important.”

He appealed to all the members to participate actively in ‘Swachhata Abhiyan.’ The campaign will not only help citizens adopt good habits of cleanliness but also boost our image as a nation. B.Vijay Kumar in his address explained that cleanliness is required everywhere. ‘Swachchta’ has some grading.

The output of any industrial unit depends upon cleanliness. He said that the mission seeks to achieve the goal of ‘Clean India’ in next five years so that the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi can be celebrated as an accomplishment of this duty. The mission aims to encourage people to devote some hours out of their daily activities and work towards cleanliness of India, he added.

He explained that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is not just about cleaning surroundings but also seeking the participation of people in planting trees, creating trash-free environment, providing sanitation facilities and paving a way for Swachh Bharat eventually. The programme was co-ordinated by D Behra, Assistant Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur who also proposed vote of thanks.
