Veterinary University celebrates Agriculture Education Day with zeal

Agriculture Education Day was celebrated in Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University on December 5.
Dr. Pradeep Kumar Bisen, Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University was chief guest. Dr. Indrajeet Bakalwar, Additional Police Superintendent and Dr. Arvind Singh Thakur were special guest. Dr. Prayag Dutt Juyal, Vice Chancellor, NDVSU presided over the program.

Birthday of first President of India Dr Rajendra Prasad and former Agriculture Minister observed by ICAR as Agriculture Education Day. Dr Ramesh Pratap Singh Baghel, Dean Veterinary College enlighten views on the objectives of this program. Chief Guest, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Bisen said that Union and State Government are working on strategy and running various programs to ensure double income of farmers by 2020 and to encourage animal husbandry.

He said that India has made tremendous growth it the agriculture and veterinary streams and in seventy years journey now we are sulf-sufficient and are exporting milk and food grains to various countries.Integrated farming is the need of the hour, said Dr. PD Juyal, VC and program president in his address that if farmers would adopt animal husbandry they would never ever thought of suicide. The agriculture gives income in two or thrice in a year but animal husbandry gives regular income on daily basis.

Special guest, Dr. Bakalwar said that there are ample scope and opportunities in the field of veterinary sciences. Dr. Arvind Singh Thakur encouraged the agriculture, veterinary scientists, researcher, students and farmers attending the program that nothing is impossible if you should any responsibility. University news letter and a magazine on “Brief Introduction of Indigenous variety of Cow”. Various events were organised including Painting Competition on “Animal Husbandry and Agriculture Coordination”.

First three winners are Smita, Subhi and Siddarth. Elocution Contest on “Animal Husbandry is need to double the farmers income by 2020’ and winners were Anubhuti, Pooja, Asad Khan. And in Debate Competition on “Present Animal Husbandry Schemes are appropriate for upliftment of financial status of farmers” and winners of the contest were Jayant, Priyanshi and Jaya, Those present were Dr SNS Parmar, Dr B C Sarkhel, Dr O P Shrivsatava, Dr J K Bharadwaj, Dr R K Sharma, Dr S Nayak, Dr S K Mahajan, Dr H S Singh, Dr. P C Shukla, Dr Madhu Swami, Dr. G. Das, Dr, N K Jain, Dr G P Lakhwani, Dr V K Bhatt, Dr Rakhi Vaishya, Dr Kavita Rai, Dr D K Gupta along with professors, research and students were present. Dr. Aditya Mishra convened the program and Dr. Sona Dubey proposed vote of thanks.
