HC dismisses bail plea in Vyapam scam

Division bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court comprising of Acting Chief Justice, Rajendra Menon and Justice, H P Singh dismissed the bail application in crime involvement in the Vyapam scandal pertaining to PMT examination.
The division bench has heard the bail application filed by Sandeep Kumar against the Union of India and others. Applicant is the resident of Jamuai (Bihar) and seeks bail in anticipation of his arrest over his alleged involvement in the Vyapam scandal pertaining to PMT Examination, 2009.
The division bench, in its order, said that circumstances of the case and the fact that even though registration of crime was in the year 2011, applicant could not be arrested till date, it is not inclined to grant bail in anticipation of arrest to the applicant, the applicant should surrender and thereafter seek regular bail under Section 439.
In case application is filed under Section 439 of CrPC, the court shall make endeavour to decide the same preferable within same day. With the aforesaid, the application is dismissed.
