Triple success for shuttler Sangeeta Rajgopalan

Sangeeta Rajgopalan, Sanjay Mishra and Kavita Dixit from Chhattisgarh selected for World Masters Badminton C’ship
Shuttler Sangeeta Rajgopalan from Chhattisgarh bagged three titles in the 41st Masters National Badminton Championship held at Kochi. With it, she emerged as the only player of the championship to win all the three events i.e. Women’s Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles events.
She defeated Maharashtra’s Saroj Sawant in Singles in straight sets by 21-15, 21-14. In the Doubles (45 age group), Sangeeta and Poonam defeated the doubles pair from Mizoram. She partnered with Sanjay Mishra, another internal master badminton player from Chhattisgarh,
in the Mixed Doubles and defeated Tamil Nadu pair in a tough competition by 22-20, 15-21 and 21-11.
Another shuttler from Chhattisgarh Kavita Dixit and her Tamil Nadu partner Sujain lost the Doubles final and they had to satisfy with runner up title. Kavita also won runner up title in Mixed Doubles while pairing with Hyderabad player.
As this championship was important from World Championship (Master) point of view, the winners and finalists were picked for the world championship. Sanjay Mishra, Sangeeta Rajgopalan and Kavita Dixit from Chhattisgarh were selected for World Master Badminton Championship.
