Meritorious wards of BSP employees felicitated

The felicitation ceremony was held at Bhilai Niwas, Bhilai, on March 11, 2017, to felicitate around 71 meritorious wards of BSP employees.
M Ravi, CEO, Bhilai Steel Plant was the Chief guest of the function. Other senior officers of BSP were also present on his occasion. In her welcome address, Vaishali Supe, AGM (Education), stated that this scheme was implemented to provide recognition and motivation to the wards of BSP employees for their meritorious academic performance in school education. She also gave a brief account of the proceedings of the ceremony.

As this ceremony could not be organized last year, 32 students for the session 2014-15 were felicitated along with 39 students for the session 2015-16. Under the scheme implemented in 2014, wards of BSP employees are
felicitated in 7 distinct categories.

In category -1, students are selected for their exceptional performance in All India Entrance Exam for professional Courses such as Engineering/ Medical/ other courses. In Category-2 Class-XII toppers in Science/ Arts and Commerce from both CBSE and CG Boards are felicitated. In category-3, TRT toppers of class-X and in category -4 TRT toppers of Class-VIII are felicitated. In category -5, class XII toppers from schools located in BSP Mines are honored. In category VI and VII TRT toppers of Class-X and Class-VIII respectively, from schools located in Mines are felicitated.
Total award amount disbursed for the two sessions of two sessions 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 is Rs 5,63,000.

M Ravi, CEO, Bhilai Steel Plant and the Chief Guest of the function, in his address, congratulated the awardees and their proud parents saying that the happiness could be seen in their eyes. He also said that the students have not only made their parents and teachers proud but they have made Bhilai proud.

He said that it is just the starting point and they have a long way to go. They should have 100% involvement in whatever they do, there is no substitute for hard work. He added that it is good that Bhilai has the tradition of inculcating ethical values.
Students should groom themselves with these values to become valued citizen of
the country.
The programme was coordinated by A K Verma, Principal, Sr. Sec. School, Sector-X and was organized by the Education Department, Bhilai Steel Plant. A vote of thanks was proposed by A K Verma while concluding this significant event.
